Are you a sex addict?

Are you a sex addict? They are many sex addicts who don't realize it! In general, you can say that you are a sex addict if either the amount of sex you have, or your type of sex has caused substantial problematic interference with your life, for instance, professionally or in your important relationships . . . But if this definition doesn't quit fit, there are quiz's available on the net to help you decide, where you just answer with a yes or no answer to each question. Then if there are enough yes's, the can bet that you qualify as a sex addict. You can find many 12 Step groups that are just for sex addicts to help you experience recovery. They are listed and explained many places here on the internet . . .If you want more specifics, send me email or leave your comment here on this blog. Laterz, Frank L

Sexual Recovery Groups Like SA, SAA, SLAA, SCA, etc.

In 1973, the Reverend Troy Perry of Metropolitan Community Church in Los Angeles gave us a meeting place for the first Sexual Recovery Group. It was before the term "sex addict" was used and we named the group Sexual Compulsives Anonymous. Though not exclusively for gay people, most of us had that or bi-sexual backgrounds. It was not a group for people who had happy and well-adjusted sex lives. It was for those of who had found our sexual acting out to be causing big problems in our lives. We adapted the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous and used them to the best of our abilities to change the destructive patterns of our sexual behavior.
